Thank you for providing the most wonderful house and setting for a delightful 50th birthday weekend celebration! One day was gloriously sunny with Mt Baker in full view and featuring a snow cap; the next was overcast and so we cuddled inside. Either way, we enjoyed having outside (via fire-pit) or inside (via fireplace) fires.

The home is decorated in such as lovely way it felt like we were guests in a well-cared-for home. Thanks again!

Thank you for lending us you're home. The view was spectacular! My younger brother saw 5 deer and 4 racons. We rentend some bikes (2( and for a few bike rides. The view was beautiful when we woke up to leave. The sun was just rising. We went down to the beach and hunted for crabs.

We are here for a weekend getaway. Dropped the kids in Bellingham and made our way to this beautiful spot.

The hike up the Baker trail (just down the road a bit on your right) was quite a workout but worth the effort. We travel to the San Juans frequently from our home in Port Townsend but the home and setting here will be a wonderful memory.

Thank you so much for sharing your home with us! We were extremely comfortable with two families. (three boys aged 9/12/12). We even went to Mt. Baker to ski. We ski a lot at home, so to experience Mt. Baker with it's awesome view's was incredible!

Grilled up lots of wonderful food including fresh caught whole side of Halibut from Barlean's - the nicest, most helpful people we met!

People on the island were all very friendly-- nice bonus. :)

Thank you for the very clean home and fresh flowers-- among other things!

We had a wonderful time and would recommend to our friends.

Enjoyed our stay. Our favorite days were the ones we stand on the Island. Enjoyed the "Common Area". Saw an Eagle sitting in the tree above the swing! Also enjoyed workshop and the local church. The people here are delightful. We did have some trouble sleeping... no used to the long days and short nights.

After Ralph and Zach rode their bikes over 1000 miles from Modesto to the Northwest Indian College, they were ready for a little R&R. Thank you for the wonderful stay. Your Lummi Island house is beautiful and it was the perfect place for Ralph and family to relax after the incredible emotions of meeting his Lummi Family after being adopted out at birth. They are an incredible tribe and we are excited to connect with new family. We are proud of the noble gesture of raising over $17,000 for a scholarship fund in the name of his deceased birth mother Kristin. The view is unforgettable.

I was unprepared for how incredibly beautiful this place is... the photos did not do it justice!

The home and grounds are so beautiful. Lummi is now our favorite island. It is so peaceful and everyone we met was so happy and friendly.

We will be back for annual trips!

We spent a bit of time in Bellingham searching for eye masks after our first morning. :) z-z-z-z Thank you SO much for allow our pug to stay here. It was fun watching her navigate around the grates at the front doors.

We had a wonderful Spring break. Relaxing and restful. Enjoyed hiking Baker Preserve and relaxing in the hot tub afterward.

It was great. I don't know where to start. I guess I'll start with the deer. I loved them. I gave them all names. The nicest deer was Prince. The rest are King, Ryan, Phillip, Andrew, Juliet and Jane. thides were great. We saw lots of starfish, small and big wing crabs. The hot tub was so cool!! The beds were so comfy and soft. The deers like birdseed and apples from the tree, so don't use it all in one day. There is a swing in the commons. face toward the ocean not the other way. I loved making smores.

Thank you so much for sharing your gorgeous home with us! It was a refreshing break from everyday life that my family and I needed desperately. When we first arrived, we ran around the house and gardens squeeling with delight as we discovered the beautiful views and the trails and nooks and crannies of the grounds. I had never been to the San Juan Islands before this vacation and I love it! I know that as soon as we leave I'll be itching to come back. I had never seen a bald Eagle before or fed Deer and I know that these previously untried experiences will stay with me for the rest of my life. The deer were so sweet and let us pet them. I had no idea their antlers were so soft! We roamed the beach at low tide and my little brother and I saw tons of starfish and crabs.

Also, this past week that we were here, I turned 18! I can't think of a better place to spend my 18th birthday. The Beachwood has just been absolutely awesome and we can't wait to come back!!

This location is so picturesque! In addiiton to the beautiful landscape, the wildlife is awesome. I saw a couple of eagles and many other birds as well as deer. What a beautiful Home! The garden of flowers was so inviting. The view was so perfect that it almost didn't seem real. The restaurants on Lummi were superb! Our explorations led us to Grouse Mountain (Vancouver), kayaking with Elakah, Rafting on the Nooksack River and Sailing from Bellingham Harbor. It is a paradise in your part of this awesome world. We are already planning for our next trip to the Great Pacific Northwest.

Thank you so much for sharing your house! It's location, gardens, view and amenities make it a must for people visiting Lummi Island. We were here for 10 days.

1) Get here! When we finally did we had so much fun exploring the house and the yard.
2) Explored the Island.
3) Took a tour of Bellingham Bay and went to the festival in Fairhaven.
4) Went to Mt. Baker and Artist's Point. The snow was amazing!
5) Drove to Blaine and rode horses, then to Semiahmoo to scope out the resort.
6) Back up to Semiahmoo for a spa day for me and Mom, Noah and Lizzie played on the beach.
7) River rafting on the Skagit, That was SO much fun! Cold, but fun.
8) Sunset Kayaking trip at Larrabee State Park. Wonderful!
9) Back to Seattle, then Phoenix, then Scottsdale!
10) Company from Seattle visited for dinner.

Thanks for your hospitality--the house is so well appointed and ready for use. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 days and did not want to leave! What a surprise when we pulled up to the yard and found the view of Mt. Baker--totally unexpected. The kids loved making their way down the trails to the beach while we enjoyed our drinks by the fire. The weather was perfect and we finally got the hang of timing our trips off Island to catch the ferry at the right time.

Thanks again for a memorable time--we hope to return one day!

You have a great place! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us! My brother, his friend and I loved exploring new ways to get down to the beach. We discovered that really cool swing, and would make by bother come w/me. we went bowling in Bellingham. My room was really cozy. The fire pit was quite a hit. We lit it every day and loved burning stuff (even our marshmellows). :) The ferry rides were fun too. I liked when the boat would rock back and forth. At the house there was always a great view from any window. That's pretty cool. Thanks again for a wonderful time, we'll leave tomorrow.

Thank you for making our Christmas perfect. We spent Christmas day exploring and walking the Island, had a wonderful dinner (thanks to Haggens!) and sat around the fire-pit all afternoon and evening. Our son came up from Seattle and we got to meet his wonderful girlfriend, who came all the way from Scotland for the holidays.

I am sitting at the dining table watching the sunrise and reveal the mountain skyline.

We will miss Lumm Island and your comfortable cozy home. And I can't wait to see Lummi Island in the summer time.

Our youngest son, Tim, drew the picture of Mt. Baker the first morning it appeared.

"Thank you... the home is fantastic & the VIEW unbelievable!

What a great place to meet our son from Seattle and send off our other son to college and WWU.

Your home is so cozy & comfy, what a great beds. We could not want for more in the kitchen (except for coffee filters, we never did find any).

What a great place to relax (I found myself reading and actually relaxing with nothing to do), eat & enjoy each other's company.

Dry dock was a bit of a challenge, the bikes came in handy (thanks for the 5th one) and the walks to the Ferry were invigorating.

The kids said, lets do this next year... We hope you will allow us to come visit your island and beautiful home again!

By the way - who is Bob! We saw some deer and a seal.

PS We are celebrating our 30th anniversary--thanks for helping us make it memorable!"

"A thrilling discovery--more exquisite than the website conveys! We were enchanted by the gardens, paths and rock/shell/artifact tableaus around every corner. The attention to detail throughout the warm, inviting house was much appreciated! Loved all those hooks on the back of the bedroom closet doors too!

I'll always remember... mornings of coffee and sudoky in the sun with Mt Baker magically appearing at the mist, joyous shrieks of discovery from the beach, washing my hair while an Eagle circles above the skylight... afternoons exploring the Island, creating our own beach rock sculptures and reading in the garden... evening of candlelit meals, roasting marshmallows over the fire-pit, and stargazing in the hot tub. Thank you so much for a perfect end to summer... we'll be back soon if I have my way... a contented Mom."

"Coming to Lummi Island was a great experience. Every rock we turned over had at least one crab underneath it. We collected shells, found hermit crabs, made smores, made inukshuks, slept, ate, and jacuzzi tubbed. We had problems turning the outdoor lighting on and turning up the temperature for the jacuzzi tub. Otherwise we had a blast. We had a beautiful view of Baker and beautiful landscaping."

"When I went to Washington it had alot of trees there. And on the second day I got to see a whole family of deer. When we went fairhaven I got a sea turtle namd bubbles and we went to a icecream shop in Fairhaven too. There is a trail to the beach and there are so many dragonflies."

Making dinner, lounging by the fire, picking medicine cards and exploring the grounds and the beach are just a few things that made our time here enjoyable. The view was majestic--a snow covered Mt. Baker, the white capped water, birds flying in a clear blue sky. We loved as we lingered in this beautiful home exploring it's own little treasures as well. Our 6 year old didn't get out due to he Bob (he was probably someplace cozy, warm so he wouldn't blow away), and our 5 month old did not get to venture out due to the extreme arctic weather, so all the more reason for us to be determined to return! Thanks Gudrun for opening your home to us! We will be back :))"

At 7, 6, 4 and 3 the simple pleasures of roasting marshmallows, finding seashells, the view of the ocean, watching the local deer parade through the property, and playing in the sand box gave even the grown-ups a chance to stop and relax and appreciate things. :) You have furnished the house so beautifully--every nook and cranny gave us something to enjoy. What a great relaxing day! Getting ready for New Year's Festivities on Lummi Island.... (we'll let you know what happens!).... Wel not muchwas happening this New Year's Eve, We came back here, mad eour own party. Yawn!

We went for an exiting drive today on Lummi Island. The wind was crazy! We almost got swept on the break wall on the other side of the Island. The soup at the Willows Inn was fabulous along with the truffles. We enjoyed a relazing evening by the roaring fire, after our amzing barbequed dinner!

We are so sad to leave today and get back to reality. However we anticipated our return in the very near future. Thanks for an amazing stay here on Lummi Island! Til next time..."

"Each morning I woke up and I could clearly see the ocean from my bed at the Beachwood. You can't know how wonderful that is for a landlocked resident from rural Ottawa. I could even see Mount Baker on the really sunny days. My visit to Lummi Island was one to remember and REPEAT. My visit was during the Dry Dock Days and truly I found the experience alot of fun. I had the opportunity to meet several of Lummi's residents and chat about island life.It even gave me the opportunity to view a local artist's paintings while waiting for the return ferry one day. I hope to return again soon."
